Message	I don't see how chroming would soften the wheel, but I went with polished for another reason - I can always get the shine back if the wheel gets scratched or corroded, and the finish will never peel off. I'm quite pleased with the look of polished factory wheels on my '96TT. I was charged $150 each. What's your shop charging? Henry
